Help? Anyone Flag with 38 Blue Stars

    I'm trying to Identify a flag I have. It has a 12" Red Border, 14"x 38" White center with a grouping of 18 Blue Stars followed by a grouping of 8 Blue Stars, followed by a grouping of 12 blue stars. It appears to of been displayed vertically.
    The flag appears to be made of Linen and looks to be at least 100 years old. I can be contacted at

    Hello, GG!

    Your flag is a variant of the "blue star" flags that are displayed by families and organizations to commemorate relatives or employees who are serving in the military. Dale Grimes of the Chesapeake Bay Flag Association has one in his collection that is very similar to what you describe -- see the photo here

    I'm not at all expert in this area, but I'd guess that your flag probably dates from the World War II era.
