Hello, I hope someone can help me.

I recently found a American Flag at a flea market and purchased it. I'm wondering if there is any way to find out the history of this paticular flag.
I dont have the exact size right now but it is made out of heavy cotton material. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

Hi, Gofish! Glad to have you in the forum.

Unless the flag has unusual markings or features, there's really no way to trace the original owner, except to find out who donated it to the flea market and work backward from there. Many flags have the manufacturer's name and other information stenciled on the headers, but this probably will not be too useful as flags are manufactured by the thousands.

    Best,

    Thanks Peter,
Thats what I was afraid of. It would be nice to know especially if it belonged to a soldier or family member. I will have to look and see about the manufacturer who knows. Thanks again
