All, there seems to be a debate among some folks on the following formation. The anthem starts around 13:20 and the movement starts at "o say does that star..."

The OSU Band is a military style band, with roots in OSU's ROTC program. Some are upset that this movement violates US Code, that the band should be stationary and at attention only, some, including those currently part of the ROTC program, have no problem with it.

I'm curious as to this community's interpretation of the formation and movement.

#1 The band is making the flag "wave" at that point in the anthem. I think it is a nice touch.
#2 If every band member had to stand at perfect "attention" they could not play their instruments.

I see no problem with the movement you refer to.

I think it's fine. It's not disrespectful to the flag or the anthem.
