I M Scoutmaster with the BSA, and one of my scouts for his Eagle Scout project is building a structure for cremating flags honorably at our local Veterans Cemetery. We are trying to figure out how to properly retire the NYLON flags when burning is not allowed, and we are getting 300 or more donated for disposal every 3 or 4 months. Everything we have read so far is telling us that we can recycle, but where we live we do not have recycling plants that will take flags. Can anyone help me with this matter?

Google to locate a recycle site that will take flags. Have them shipped to the recycle site and do a fundraiser to pay for the shipping cost?
