Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, and joined because I have a question regarding parade etiquette. I will be playing bagpipes solo and have been asked to lead our parade group, in front of the color guard. However, when I play with my pipe band, we ALWAYS follow behind the color guard, as my pipe major says no one in a parade group should be in front of the color guard. This makes sense to me as a sign of respect for our flags, and so I mentioned this to the parade group organizer and told her I would check for proper protocol. Also, she wanted to make sure we have the flags in proper order, right to left. The flags will include the American flag, flags for the different military branches, and the MIA flag. Thanks in advance-I have 3 parades coming up with this group and want to get it right!
