Raise flag on half-staff day at sunset?

I can't seem to find answers to questions I have regarding proper half staff etiquette:
We will soon fly the USA flag on a 20ft stationary pole. It will fly 24/7, with an automatic illumination at night.

My question pertains to half staff etiquette: when EXACTLY should it be lowered and when raised?

Would the proper etiquette for a 24/7 flying flag be to lower the flag to half staff at sunrise, and raise it again at sunset?

It appears to be the correct thing to do from what I can discern, although this would mean the flag is raised while still clearly visible and lowered while clearly visible (there's still good visibility just after sunset and before sunrise).

Also, during half staff times where the flag is half staff for extended periods, is it okay to have the flag be continuously at half staff even during the night, if illuminated?
