    An Annin sales Co rep told me it was a special order, but they had no records from the Defiance line.

    Hi Rokkit,
    Welcome and thanks for posting! It looks like a shipping company flag and it is in almost mint condition! It does not surprise me that Annin blew you off. I am sure those records were burned many years ago. They have become so corporate and so big that a lot of flag details they we deem important has been lost to history.

    I am not 100% sure that this is a shipping company flag. It looks a bit like one of the many designs for flags used in bond drives and for other patriotic purposes during both World Wars. Also, a nautical house flag would be more likely to have loops and/or toggles instead of grommets. Either way, it certainly is a handsome flag in great condition.
