    Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased on ebay a 48 star nylon 2' x 3' flag with a gold fringe. It's not rare but I thought the size and fringe would look nice framed on a wall. I was surprised to see that the stars are embroidered. I just didn't know they were doing that back then. I did some Googling and saw on Jeff Bridgman's site a 45 star with embroidered stars so it must go back at least to the very early 1900s. I'm curious - does anyone know when stars began to be embroidered?
