"Til The Last Shot's Fired" is INDEED a very touching song! It seems to be an altogether fitting "follow-up" to his song, "Arlington". Although you didn't include a link in your post, I "Googled" my way over to YouTube and found a few videos of the song!

I'll go ahead and put in a couple of links to videos on YouTube of "Til The Last Shot's Fired". One is a "slide show" tribute to the Armed Forces and is of the FULL song, and the other (a truncated version) is from the CMA Awards show that was broadcast on CBS back on April 5th, 2009.

Also, Trace Adkins is allowing the proceeds of downloads of "Til The Last Shot's Fired" on iTunes to go towards funding the Wounded Warriors Project, so I'll include a Link to the WWP website as well.

Below the links I'll post MY transcription of the lyrics to Trace Adkins' "Til The Last Shot's Fired". I did NOT include any punctuation as I was not entirely sure how Mr. Adkins put it all together. I suppose if I had taken the time to FIND the "official" lyrics it would ALL be there. But I didn't, so it ain't!

BTW : The lyrics I transcribed are from the FULL version of the song, NOT the shortened version performed on the 2009 CMA Awards show.

I'd never heard it, or heard OF it, until John Hanley mentioned it here.

My friend Walt, whose a member here, listens to country music ALL the time and he's never mentioned it. I'd almost be willing to bet that he watched the CMA awards show, too !!!
