    Default U.S. and USMC flags on the same flagpole.

    Recently, while driving through my neighborhood, I noticed a home with the U.S. flag and USMC flag displayed side-by-side on the same wall-mounted pole. This appears to be inappropriate and I would like to arm myself with a reference before approaching the owner. Can anyone provide the appropriate reference?
