| Sue, The proper display would be for the United States flag to be centered, with the company flags to flank the United States flag. Also, the U.S. flag should be at least as large as the company flags--never smaller--and should hang at least slightly above the company flags.

| i work inside an aircraft hangar and i would like to know which way the field faces if the flag is hanging from the rafters? Assuming that the flag is visible from both sides (i.e., it's hanging in the middle of the hangar), the union should be toward the north or east, depending on how the rafter is oriented. This is based on two paragraphs of the flag code: 7j, which deals with flags displayed over streets between buildings, and 7o, which covers flags displayed inside building corridors and lobbies. Your situation isn't precisely the same as either of these, but it's the closest that the code comes. If the flag is visible from only one side (i.e., near or against a wall), then the union should be on the flag's right (the observer's left), regardless of the compass direction. Does this help? Best regards, Peter Ansoff
