USA Flag

I just became a member and hope to find info regarding an old American flag that has been in my family for many years. It has the usual red and white stripes but in the star field the stars are arranged in the form of USA. ? Can someone explain its history?

Interesting erechas. How old do you think the flag is? How many stars are on it? If it's a true US historical flag, the flag code didn't have a specific "arrangment" of the stars, they only had to have the correct amount of stars, 13 or whatever. Can you post a photo? I'd like to see it.

I took pictures of the USA Flag. I hope I made the attachments correctly.
The flag measures 43" x 69" and the star field measures 23' x 29". these measurement could have been greater when the flag was new.
I believe this flag was an option at the time the standard 48 star flag was adopted. This would be about the time Oklahoma was ratified (1912) as a State.

BillyRuffian has done some "detective" work (Good Job!) regarding his Flag and other seemingly "non-regulation" 48 star Flags.

I have never seen that pattern before.

The only other word in stars I found once was 'FREE'. I cannot remember how many stars it took to make it.
