What in the world?

I noticed that the ads provided by google mention the confederate flag.

Why on Earth would a site such as this allow such a thing? I feel uncomfortable contributing to this forum and feel that it might not be in the best interest of the Lord to be promoting the hated of African Americans.

If someone could explain this to me, or perhaps an apology would be nice. I just feel moved emotionally after seeing that, and I feel that what I thought was a forum filled with good, kind hearted Americans might not be what it's cut out to be.

Those ads are put there by the forum host, and we have no control over their content. It's certainly true that the Confederate flag is a controversial symbol, but it is also a popular one and is sold by most flag dealers. If this makes you uncomfortable, you're free to refrain from patronizing those dealers.

Hello REDefiant. Thank you for your understanding. It is the very nature of flags as symbols that some will honor them while others will attack them - flags are controversial. Although this forum is dedicated to the flag of the United States as the patriotic symbol of our country, there is no requirement that forum members or advertisers hold any particular viewpoint. Indeed, the flag of the United States stands for the freedoms embodied in the Constitution, including the right to free speech.
