Hi I live in a northern state. I am appalled at the display of the confederate flag on car bumpers, well really that's the only place I see them because these people wouldn't dare hang them from their homes for others would know where they lived. They can feel safe in their cars, make a quick get-away. In light of that there must exist something in these people that they are aware it is kinda taboo, in this state anyway. What is their display suppose to mean to the person viewing their confederate flag?? And why is it that Yankees don't run around with a flag?? I find myself compelled to display one but they are not readily available for purchase as the confederate flag is. It's a mystery?? Does anyone have any thoughts?

well i live in the UK.... but upon coming to the states i visited both 'northern and southern states' and saw more stars and stripes bumber stickers and so forth than i did rebel flag ones. but i saw people wearing t shirts with rebel flags on and i know a few ppl who have rebel flags hung in their houses. (i have 3 rebel flags one is on the wall here too- but i own 40 stars and stripes so my rebel flags are well outnumbered!)
u didnt mention which state u live in so i dont know if i went to it or not. in england rebel flags and rebel flag jewellery/bandannas and so forth are quite readily available. i often wear a rebel flag cap when i go out and im going to geta jacket with it on too (i have a stars and stripes jacket already!) im thinkin if i did this in your state id get beaten up??
