Which US Flag to salute?

Prior to college and some high school football games there it a military color guard on the playing field that presents the US flag. There is also a US flag flown from the stadium's flag pole. When the national anthem is played prior to the game, which flag is faced and saluted? I see some people facing the flag with the color guard and others facing the pole mounted flag? I think the US flag being carried by the color guard should be faced and saluted? Correct?

I would salute the flag that was closest to me or was in the best line of sight for me. Not sure if that's right though.
