I have a flag given to my wifes aunt's grandfather Simpson. The note on the flag indicates it was from the White house while he was a doorman. The flag has a marking "35". I am trying to figure out it's validity. Any help would be great!

    Thanks

    Welcome, Rwagers!

I've moved this post to the "Flag Identification and Collecting" section. We have several experts in that area here.

How large is your flag? If the "35" marking is actually "3x5" then that is the size, in feet, and it is much too small to be flown over the White House. It may, however, be one of the thousands of 3x5 foot flags flown over the U.S. Capitol every year for the various Senators and Representatives who request them for their constituents.
