    Default Who Deserves the Casket flag

    My father in law (Veteran WWII) remarries after his 1st wife of 30 years past away in 1978 (they had four kids). He remarried in 1995 and has no new kids with this wife (other than her already grown kids... he did not adopt them). He passes away and now who gets the casket flag? One of his four kids from his previous/first marriage or his new wife ????

    Hello, and welcome to the USA Flag Forum. Your question is an inheritance issue, not one of flag etiquette. There are no presecribed rules relating to the ownership of the casket flag. The flag may be treated like any other property that is being dispersed among the descendants.
